Devoted is the latest book by Dean Koontz. It somewhat continues the tales of laboratory enhanced dogs that were introduced in the book Watchers. Kipp is a golden Retriever, a descendant of these dogs, who have increased intelligence, loyalty and love for good people. They have special abilities to understand and protect those who need help. In this book that person is a young boy, Woody Bookman.
Woody is a 11 year old and has not spoken a word since his fathers’ death in a freak accident. Woody believes something evil killed his father and is threatening him and his mother. Kipp and Woody face this together in a touch-and go battle against evil.
If you have read Koontz other “dog” books or if you enjoy a good adventure with a touch of danger, you will enjoy this book.
